BlackPad: il tablet di RIM non avrà BlackBerry OS?

Ok, concordo con voi che è strano ma sembrerebbe essere vero. Forse l’errore di fondo, però, è aver pensato di default che il tablet BlackBerry avrebbe utilizzato BlackBerry OS ma non è così.

BlackPad, infatti, utilizzerà un software pensato apposta per il device creato da QNX Software Systems, un’azienda che è stata acquistata da RIM in Aprile per “soli” 200 milioni di dollari.

La piattaforma di QNX è già diffusa su BMW, Porsche, Cisco e Caterpillar tra gli altri e ora entra in un tablet che, nonostante non abbia BlackBerry OS, è pensato comunque per garantire la massima integrazione con i vostri smartphone RIM.

che brutta gente quelli di RIM
e pensare che per il nuovo Ols 6 hanno implementato un browser con motere opensource webkit

hanno fatto la stessa cosa con Torch Mobile , la softwarehouse che produceva Iris un browser per Windows Mobile basato su WebKit.
